Public Charge Rule Explained

About the Public Charge Rule of 2019

This is to inform our parents and guardians that a new federal Public Charge rule, which went into effect October 15, 2019, does not impact K-12 education.
 
This means that your child's ability to receive nutritious meals and snacks, before, during and after school, has not changed, and will continue.
 
Below is a letter by the California Department of Education explaining what the rule does, and does not do.
