LEUSD’s Energy & Sustainability Program (ESP) aims to identify and implement energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives districtwide. Our objective is to reduce costs, conserve natural resources, and educate staff about their part in energy, waste, and resource management.

District employees as well as external partners contribute to the success of this Department by having a shared responsibility for the effectiveness of the program.

• Assess and track LEUSD and school energy consumption levels
• Implement and monitor strategic energy reduction initiatives
• Increase awareness and training of students, staff, and teachers
• Partner with utilities, vendors, and consultants to take advantage of grants, rebates, incentives, educational programs and training opportunities.
• Facility audits, benchmarking, and ensuring energy management and water conservation initiatives are in line with the mission, vision and values of the District.
