The 2020-21 School Year is Coming!
Please be sure to complete your Online Registration for 2020-21. If you have not yet completed it for your child(ren), please do so right away. To register, please visit the LEUSD Enrollment/Registration page.
Immunizations and well-child visits are still important during this time. The California Department of Health states, school immunizations and physical exam requirements are unchanged for the 2020-21 school year. Please make an appointment with your doctor to get all necessary requirements or school medical forms completed to avoid any delay to your child starting school. You can visit the district website and shotsforschool.org for any information on requirements and school medical forms.
REGARDING THE MODELS FOR INSTRUCTION IN 2020-21
The number one goal for Lake Elsinore Unified School District is to open the school year August 12, 2020 in a Traditional Model. The current school closure health order in Riverside County remains in force through June 19, 2020. Until we have clear guidance from the County of Riverside and new health orders, we cannot say what the Traditional Model will look like as far as face coverings, recesses, lunchtime, physical education, extra-curricular activities, athletics, and the like. What we do know, is that if we can open in a Traditional Model, students will be in school every day and be with their teacher(s).
If we are unable to open in the Traditional Model, we will open in the Hybrid Model, meaning students will attend in person two days per week and be virtual three days per week. In the Hybrid Model, just like in the Traditional Model, we cannot say what this will look like when students are physically in school as far as face coverings, recesses, lunchtime, physical education, extra-curricular activities, athletics, and the like, until we have new health orders from the County of Riverside.
- In the Hybrid Model, when students are virtual, they will be online with their teacher(s) each day. Some teachers may decide to be online with students in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, a whole class setting, small groups, online for a period of time, then offline doing individual work and returning to complete lessons. Some teachers may pre-record portions of lessons so students can access them after the initial lesson.
- In the Hybrid Model, students will engage with their teachers daily. Students will be accountable to participate in lessons and complete all activities and assignments, just the same as if they were in-person with their teacher(s).
- Even though students are at home, instruction occurs through the school day.
The Virtual Model is a full-time online learning environment, where students will remain a member of their current school. Students and teachers will engage daily and students are held accountable for participating in virtual class time, group activities, and completing all activities and assignments just as if they were in-person with their teacher(s). This is not packet work, or self-paced. Even though students are at home, instruction occurs through the school day.
