EXCEL 2026-2027 Application information:

Before accessing 6Crickets, all families must complete their Annual Update or New student registration (including TK/K and transfers) via Infinite Campus. Please allow time for processing as we coordinate these updates across the district.

  • Hello LEUSD Families,
    Starting April 6, 2026, families will use 6Crickets to submit interest for next year’s Expanded Learning programs.
    ✅ This is not enrollment or acceptance into the program
    ✅ All students will be placed on a wait list
    ✅ Program notifications will be sent on July 1, 2026

    Program Options for 2026–27
    1. EXCEL After‑School Program (Full‑Time Care)
    Enrichment provided from the end of school day, until 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
    Designed for families who need consistent daily supervision and enrichment.
    Space is limited; state law requires priority for students with the highest need.
    2. Specialized Enrichment Classes (2–4 Days/Week)
    For families who do not need full‑time care.
    Classes include sports, robotics, tutoring, e‑sports, chess, and more.
    Earlier release times (approx. 3:00 or 4:00 PM).
    Including AM Enrichment and GAP (TK/K) Enrichment
    Offered in 10‑week sessions throughout the year.

    📅 July 1, 2026 – Families receive placement updates
    Submitting interest does not guarantee enrollment.

  •   LEA entitlement amounts are based on the number of unduplicated pupils that are enrolled and these pupils should receive priority enrollment.

  2026-2027 EXCEL Program information:

EXCEL is offered at all Elementary, TK-8 Schools and Middle Schools in LEUSD

EXCEL will start on August 11, 2026

  • Before-School Program: Elementary and TK-8 School sites = 6:30AM - Start of Breakfasts
  • TK/K Gap Care Program: Elementary and TK-8 School sites =  End of TK/K school day until 1:55PM (Elementary Sites) 2:05PM (TK-8 Sites).
  • EXCEL After-School Program: at all Elementary, TK-8 Schools and Middle Schools = End of school day until 6:00PM.
  • SPECIAL opportunity programs offered in 10 week sessions 2-3 days a week with EARLIER than 4:00 pick-up will be offered for families that do not need a full service 4-5 day a week program till 6:00PM. Students enrolled in EXCEL will have opportunity to attend these SPECIAL programs in the second session offered. These will be available on the LEUSD/ EXCEL 6 Crickets webpage AFTER July 1, 2026

  • Dismissal times for EXCEL After School Program:

  • Two times are available = 4:00PM at all Elementary and TK-8 sites (with a 10 min grace period), 4:30PM at all Middle Schools (with a 10 min grace period) and final 6:00PM (pick up may start as early as 5:30). You must choose one of the two times for pick up.

  • EXCEL Early dismissal at times other than above, will be allowed ONLY if arranged or in an emergency. Early dismissal form must be filled out or on file with the site supervisors.  

  •  ALL Parents will be required to attend a mandatory parent meeting at the school site - Dates and Times will be posted on Parent Square before the start of the school year.

  • EXCEL programs follow the LEUSD School Year Calendar below and is available on days school is in session.

  • Please check with your school site or district website  for information on Intersession, and Summer Programs (this is a separate enrollment)
