Microcredentials

Teaching is future-focused work. It is about preparing students to secure their own well-being—and our nation’s—in a dynamic global economy. To do so effectively, teachers must devote significant time, energy, and effort to their own professional growth throughout their careers.

Personalized, professional learning in the form of badges, or micro-credentials as they are sometimes called, are created with the understanding that a teacher's time in the classroom is the most valuable commitment of time that we make in Lake Elsinore Unified School District.

As such, we're supporting a new type of professional learning. One that respects the varied nature of time constraints on a teacher's schedule, with respecting both the formal and informal training they choose to pursue.  In addition, LEUSD values the contributions of their teachers, and the shared leadership model that is essential to any organization tasked with such a crucial mission, namely, to help all students master core content knowledge and become adept critical thinkers, collaborators, and communicators to ready them for their college and careers pursuits.
