Town Hall Meetings on Proposed School Boundary Changes
LEUSD invites the public to attend our next Town Hall meeting on proposed changes in school attendance boundaries effective in the 2015-16 school year (current high school boundaries are not affected):

The proposed attendance boundaries are discussed in the Superintendent's Road Show Advance newsletter (View Superintendent's Road Show newsletter page now), and on a Proposed School Boundaries web page that lets parents view the proposed boundaries on an interactive map, based on their residential address (Proposed school attendance boundaries for 2015-2016.) These outreach meetings are intended to collect feedback from district stakeholders before the Board of Trustees considers action on the boundary proposal at their regular Board meeting on March 12, 2015.
 
Make-A-Wish Foundation Surprises Elsinore Elementary Student
A surprise visit by Make a Wish Foundation makes EES student Elvis D. very happy!Elsinore Elementary student Elvis De Leon received the wish of a lifetime...a surprise visit today from the Make-A-Wish Foundation!  Elvis was greeted by the entire school of cheering students during his walk to an awaiting limo for a 6 hour shopping spree. His teacher, Mr. Burciaga, and Principal Rita Post were notified in advance by the Make a Wish Foundation and secretly arranged music by the Elsinore Middle School Band, balloons donated by Albertson's, posters drawn by ASB students, and coordinated with the press (including CBS 2 and KCAL 9 and the P-E), to watch Elvis and his mother, Zoila, carried away for a full day of shopping, eating, and the memory of a lifetime.

Saucedo (Trustee Area 4) will retain their respective offices in 2015, the Board unanimously voted last night. Also, the oath of office was taken by Board members Dodd, Stan Crippen (Trustee Area 1), and Tom Thomas (Trustee Area 5), who were appointed to office following the November 4 election (appointment is a result of none of the incumbents being challenged in their respective Trustee Areas). Intradistrict Transfer Requests Deadline: Jan. 30
The submittal period for a 2015-2016 Intradistrict Transfer request is January 5-30, 2015. No transfer applications submitted after 4:30 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 will be accepted. Revised LCAP Adopted
The revised and approved Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is available online for public review.  The revised LCAP was approved by the Governing Board on Wednesday, August 7, 2014.  Approved LCAP (Español).
Pay for School Meals Online!
The district's Food Services Department announces a new online payment process for school meals, School Pay. Click on schoolpay.com or set your browser to www.schoolpay.com to create an account. Account set up is fast; all you need to begin is the student's ID number and school site name. Follow the prompts to activate an online meal payment account. If you have trouble setting up an account, please call toll-free Mon-Fri CST: 1-888-886-9729.
