Withrow Elementary up for national award
The Lake Elsinore Unified School District's Withrow Elementary School is one of California's 35 nominees for recognition under the national Blue Ribbon Schools Program. For more information about the award, click here.
School Closure and K-8 Conversion Information
The Governing Board voted on Dec. 16 to move forward with the closure of Butterfield Elementary School beginning with the 2010-11 school year, coupled with the conversion of Lakeland Village Middle School to a K-8 campus, and the phased-in conversion of Luiseno Elementary School to a K-8. Budget Watch
One idea that has come up numerous times during budget discussions is the idea of shortening the school week to four days. Our Fiscal Support Services Division has studied the idea and has determined that LEUSD would have to overcome some significant hurdles to implement the idea. Closing the 'Achievement Gap'
The Lake Elsinore Unified School District is making great strides in closing the achievement gap for students in demographic subgroups The instructional Support Services Division made a presentation highlighting this progress at the Governing Board meeting on October 8, 2009. Testing and Accountability
The Lake Elsinore Unified School District once again showed strong improvement in student performance during the 2008-09 school year, according to accountability reports released by the California Department of Education on September 15. LEUSD launches child care program
Parents can enroll their children in kindergarten through 5th grade in the district's child care program, which will begin in the fall. Before- and after-school care will be available at five schools: Cottonwood, Donald Graham, Luiseno, Rice Canyon and Tuscany Hills elementary schools. For more information, click here.
