Food Services

Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand. The Food Services Department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well-being, and ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet their health and nutrition needs of students.

FREE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR ALL STUDENTS DURING THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

California became the first state to implement a statewide Universal Meals Program for all school children to help end hunger, eliminate stigma, and support academic success. Under the California Universal Meals Program, school districts are required to apply to participate in a federal meal provision such as Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Please see Media Release below for school site information.

For the School Year 2026-2027, Lake Elsinore Unified School District is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.

Under this provision, LEUSD will provide all students with one compliant breakfast and one compliant lunch for free! All students enrolled will receive meals through the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at no charge. Students use Student ID Numbers to access their lunch account.

MEAL APPLICATIONS: HOUSEHOLD ALTERNATIVE INCOME (REQUIRED)

As a result of this provision, meal applications will not be accepted and will be on hold. However, please be sure to complete the District’s Alternative Household Income Form,  as it is critical to ensure your student’s school receives the maximum funding.  All information remains confidential.

Infinite Campus is our Student Information System, where you can update your current student/s’ annual registration information or register a new student for the 2026-2027 school year.

We encourage you to enter your Household Income information so that Lake Elsinore Unified School District receives state FUNDING for important educational programs to which our students are entitled.
