UC Course Submission Process

How to prepare a course to submit to the University of California for a-g credit.

UC a-g Course Submission Directions

The entity responsible for evaluating high school courses as college preparatory for subject matter (a – g) is the University of California’s High School Articulation Unit. The High School Articulation Unit is a division of the University of California Office of the President (UCOP). Its purpose is to communicate and implement faculty policy regarding high school coursework that fulfills the “a-g” subject requirement for freshmen admission to the University. Communication is achieved via a website (Doorways) that provides easy access to the three main functions of high school course approval and maintenance: (1) the a-g guide which provides information, instructions and guidance; (2) approved course lists for all public and private high schools, charter schools and programs, as well as community colleges; and (3) the online update portal which is the conduit whereby all courses are submitted and updated.
