Lake Elsinore Unified School District (LEUSD/District) has approved to extend distance learning for k-12 instruction through March 26, 2021. Currently, Riverside County remains in the purple tier and continues to experience high COVID-19 case rates and a limited vaccine appointment availability.
Elementary School Update
With the extension of distance learning, the current elementary class rosters will remain in place through March 26, 2021. Class rosters will only change if elementary students return to in-person instruction. “Extending distance learning and current class roster for students allows for a minimal interruption for students and staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberly.
A re-evaluation of the complex implications identified above and the determination of the next steps regarding the possibility of reopening and providing in-person instruction for elementary students shall be discussed at a scheduled Special Governing Board Meeting on March 18, 2021.
