Academic Options

Lake Elsinore Unified School District recognizes that in some cases, traditional educational environments might not serve the needs of all of their students. As such, our district offers several options to the traditional school that might better serve the needs of some of our students.

Options include:

Short Term independent study for short breaks in the ability to attend school in person, while the student maintains enrollment at their home school.
Full Time independent study at Keith McCarthy Academy, a blended program that has online curriculum, as well as in-person direct instruction and small group activities such as labs and tutoring groups.
Ortega High School has a a small group environment, with the opportunity to either recover credits or accelerate their graduation plan.
Distance Learning instruction at our comprehensive high schools for students that prefer to work independently but still have the option to get in-person assistance.
