California CollegesCalifornia Colleges

California Colleges is a platform that allows ALL students to access career assessments, career research, college research, and launch their college application and FAFSA/CADAA.  As a partner district, all students have an account already.  Parents can also create accounts for themselves. If you are having trouble with your account or have questions, please reach out to your school's counseling department.

Pathful Explore (formerly Virtual Job Shadow)

Pathful Explore
Pathful Explore is a platform that allows students to take career assessments, explore careers, watch videos on different occupations and more.  This is a great resource for students to find more information about the types of jobs that are out in the world.  Students have accounts and should be able to log in with a district login.  This program can also be logged in through clever.

Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is an agreement in  which 160+ participating public colleges and universities provide steep nonresident tuition savings for Western students. Through WUE, eligible students can choose from hundreds of undergraduate programs outside their home state, and pay no more than 150 percent of that institution’s resident tuition rate. Since full nonresident college-tuition rates may exceed 300 percent of resident rates, WUE increases affordable higher-education choices for students, and minimizes the adverse impacts of student loan debt.

Interested in playing sports in college?

Be sure to speak with your school counselor and your coach as soon as possible.  There are specific requirements that a student must complete in order to play sports in college.  Please do not wait until your senior year to plan for this.  Each division and each association has their own requirements.  The more you share with your counselor and coach, they more they can assist you.

You will need to register with NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) or NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes) depending on the college you will be attending.

Financial Aid Applications

The State of California is now requiring that each senior complete the FAFSA or CADAA

LEUSD will submit all GPAs for current seniors at the beginning of the senior year in accordance with Cal-Grant requirements.  All seniors will be deemed a Cal Grant applicant unless the student and their parent/guardian has opted out prior to the high school's submission of GPAs to the Commission. Students who DO NOT OPT-OUT will have their GPA submitted to the California Student Aid Commission at the beginning of their senior year to be considered for a Cal Grant award. Students who do not want Lake Elsinore Unified School District to report a GPA, please complete the Cal Grant GPA Opt-Out Form and return it to the Counseling Office of your high school by the end of the student’s junior year.

Cal-Grant GPA Opt Out Form English/Cal-Grant GPA Opt Out Form Spanish - This only prevents the district from releasing the GPA; it does not exempt a student from completing the FAFSA or CADAA
