At the age of 18 students retain their own educational rights, meaning legally they can start to sign their IEP's. Therefore it is important for parents and care givers to obtain conservatorship if necessary. Also it is an important time to be connected with the Inland Regional center, Social Security and the Department of Rehabilitation.
