WHAT: Open Auditions for Latitude Dance Company, EHS's student performance dance showcase!
WHEN: 7:30 a.m. registration. Auditions 8:00-11:30 a.m. Callbacks 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.n.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS (print friendly version available below)
Female: Wear black fitted leggings or black fitted dance shorts with tan tights and a black fitted full-length tank or t-shirt. Please bring proper dance shoes for both hip-hop/jazz choreography. Hair should be in high ponytail with all hair pulled and sprayed out of the face. Remember this is your first impression on the judges, and appearance is scored. Hair and makeup should be performance ready.
Male: Black athletic shorts and a white t-shirt. Please bring appropriate shoes for hip-hop/jazz choreography.
All dancers must arrive at 7:30 to register, take headshot and warm up. You will receive an audition number and have your picture taken in the order you arrive. Please have the form below filled out entirely and ready to hand in at registration. First you will learn a choreographed routine and then you will be asked to showcase your most advanced jump/leap, turn, and a standout trick of choice.
Also, please prepare a 1 -1 minute 30 second solo (any dance genre) that showcases your strengths in technique, choreography, and audience appeal. It should connect to the audience and display emotion. This will be required if you receive a call back for the second portion of auditions.
Results for the 2017-2018 Latitude Dance Company will be posted that day at 4:00 PM on the back door of the dance room and also in the girl’s locker room.
